The Detroit Lions spent their fourth-round compensatory pick on defensive end Devin Taylor, selecting him 132nd overall.

With the 132nd pick in the 2013 NFL draft, a compensatory selection, the Detroit Lions selected defensive Devin Taylor from the University of South Carolina. Taylor joins an already well-stocked defensive line, so he is likely to see limited action his rookie season.

Bio

Taylor grew up in South Carolina and helped his high school football team win the state championship. Taylor redshirted his freshman year at South Carolina but saw significant playing time from his redshirt sophomore years through his senior year opposite stud defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.

How he fits in

At 6’7”, Taylor has great size and at only 266 lbs, he still has room to grow with his frame. His upside is shown by his decent speed (4.72 seconds in the 40-yard dash), 14 reps on the bench press, 35.0-inch vertical jump, and 6.89-second performance on the three-cone drill.

He will be a developmental defensive end behind first-round pick Ezekiel Ansah, Jason Jones, and Willie Young. Although he lacked significant production in college, once he gets moving, he can run well to track down opposing quarterbacks. He needs to work on staying low and improving his short-burst quickness. Given Taylor’s great measurables, defensive line coach Jim Washburn and Kris Koureck should be able to develop him over time.

Grade: B-

Detroit went back to the proverbial defensive end well in the fourth round. Ansah is the new boom-or-bust starter, but Taylor is the project they can develop over time. Now that Ronnell Lewis has switched from linebacker to defensive end, Taylor should be fourth on the depth chart this year with a chance to move up later.

And I could have sworn someone said the Packers got $40 million of Rodgers contract out the way this year.  Not that it made sense or anything...

Hey Rourke, about that posting pictures thing.  If you could somehow limit the amount of pictures posted to a number of posts, hilarity would ensue.  Like make it 1 picture per 25 posts, and watch as 3 people try counting posts to be the one.

Serious question: how do gay people find other gay people to be in a relationship with? Would a gay man just go up to another man and start hitting on him, hoping that he is gay too? (i'd imagine you would get beat up half the time)

disclaimer: I am only joking

So much ado about nothing. I don't understand how a man could favor penis over vagina either. That doesn't make me ignorant. That makes me straight. I don't really have the capacity to understand that, any more than I have the capacity to understand the experience of female orgasm or childbirth. That doesn't make me misogynistic; it makes me male.

Even my wife, who likes girls, has frequently said she doesn't understand how someone could be exclusively attracted to members of the same sex.

By the same token, I have talked to plenty of gays who find the concept of opposite-sex genitalia revolting and don't understand how someone could want to fool around with it. That doesn't make them bigoted. It makes them gay.

I met a cool packers fan at my favorite haunt today. He is from Wisconsin and has  a Packers logo as well as a Brewers logo tattooed on his arm. I told him about the site. Hopefully he will check it out. Seemed interested. Seemed like he might be sort of smart unless he was pretending to read.

Vegas has the 9ers at 6-1 to win the superbowl and the Packers as 12-1

Do you really think the 9ers are twice as likely to win the super bowl?

That's why I use the words retard, midget, and honky (in the correct context of course).

If we choose to give these words power, then we are perpetuating the problem. The gays brought the word gay back and it's not seen as nearly as demeaning as it once was.

Was I the only one who didn't think that Wallace's tweet was that bad?

All he said was that he finds women so beautiful that he doesn't understand why some people are into dudes.

Could have been a lot worse

A lot of people are implying on Twitter that Jason Collins came out as gay after 12 season at NBA because by now everyone knows he sucks.....

Hold on, let me rethink that line above and come back to you.
