Maybe this guy could erase some of the stain left by Lance Armstrong. The video is a bit long, but worth it.
Johnathan Wood’s All-Bears team of the last 15 years
- Updated: May 14, 2013
As we stumble through the desert of another long, dull offseason, we here at WCSN are constantly searching for amusing (and football-related) diversions.
I really need to come up with an idea of my own soon.
Before you throw up your hands in despair, however, rest assured that I did deviate slightly from Tyler’s approach. He chose his favorite New Orleans Saints players, while I am choosing the ones who I think have been the best on the field. Here is the team I would assemble if I could magically grab the best Chicago Bears players from the last decade and a half.
- Quarterback: Jay Cutler
- Running backs:
- Thomas Jones
- Matt Forte
- Fullback: Jason McKie
- Wide receivers:
- Brandon Marshall
- Marty Booker
- Marcus Robinson
- Bobby Engram
- Muhsin Muhammad
- Tight ends:
- Desmond Clark
- Greg Olsen
- Left tackle: Orlando Pace
- Left guard: Ruben Brown
- Center: Olin Kreutz
- Right guard: Roberto Garza
- Right tackle: John Tait
- Defensive ends:
- Julius Peppers
- Alex Brown
- Adewale Ogunleye
- Israel Idonije
- Defensive tackles:
- Tommie Harris
- Henry Melton
- Tank Johnson
- Ted Washington
- Middle linebacker: Brian Urlacher
- Outside linebackers:
- Lance Briggs
- Roosevelt Colvin
- Warrick Holdman
- Charles Tillman
- Tim Jennings
- Nathan Vasher
- Jerry Azumah
- Mike Brown
- Danieal Manning
- Chris Harris
Kicker: Robbie Gould
Punter: Brad Maynard
Long snapper: Patrick Mannelly
Returner: Devin Hester
Like the Chicago Bears as a whole over the last 15 years, this roster is decidedly defense heavy. The defense features four players — Julius Peppers, Brian Urlacher, Charles Tillman, and Lance Briggs — who are likely to receive Hall of Fame consideration, all of whom spent at least part of their prime in Chicago. These cornerstones are surrounded by talented difference makers all over the defense.
The offense, on the other hand, is not quite as talented. Jay Cutler is a competent quarterback, easily the best signal caller the Chicago Bears have enjoyed over this time span, but he has yet to prove he is anything special. The offensive line, which has been terrible for the last five years or so, would likewise be good but not great. The offense does feature a nice array of skill position players, but I find it kind of sad that a collection of the best Bears offensive players over 15 years likely wouldn’t make the best offense in the NFL this year.
What do you think of my selections? Are there players I left off? Let me know in the comments below. Or, better yet, write your own (better) version for your favorite team!
Packers want to be on good terms with Brett Favre
Guy gets a felony conviction for possession of mary jane in MN.
Possessing marijuana is classified as a "crime of violence," so guy loses his right to carry a firearm for life.
Guy carries firearm, gets another felony conviction. He challenges the conviction on second amendment grounds, but the MN Supreme Court upholds the conviction.
I assume he will appeal to the USSC, and I hope that cert is granted.
Just follow this one weird trick to lose all the weight. You won't believe the mistake she made. Best chocolate chip recipes, revealed.
Apparently the Raiders and Broncos aren't the only ones showing interest in Charles Woodson. The AARP has also been blowing up his phone.
Yo, Vince, when you get a chance, send me a message to my Gmail: [email protected] I have an idea I think would be up your alley.
The Lions felt this could be a "breakout year" for Titus Young. They just didn't realize he'd be breaking out of jail.
Carimi has shown marked improvement in his blocking skills. So far he has blocked all attempts by the Bears to get him to show up for workouts.
Hashimoto sounds like he would fit right in at WCSN.
Are cheerleaders NSFW? Open at your own risk.
Who are the best Packers writers to follow on the twitters? And no Wilde. No one is more annoying to follow.

Tarantino fans who didn't catch Django Unchained in theaters should rent or buy the fucking thing.
Classic Tarantino (and the director makes an explosive cameo*)
*sadly, he hasn't aged well
Doug Marrone: "I’ll pick a QB when one pulls away from the rest"
Doug's choices: Kevin Kolb, Tarvaris Jackson, E.J. Manuel
Me: Good luck with that...
Jerry Sloan interviewed with the Bucks, i like this. get rid of Ellis, sign and trade Jennings, then start from there, they have a good defensive Center, just need a consistent scorer or two
Never cared much for Angelina Jolie but I am glad she had that taken care of. Can't fuck around with the Cancer. I did get more concerned when Christina Appelgate had the same thing done. I had been crushing on her since I was a wee teenage lad and remember being sad about the loss of her boobies. Hell, I'm sad for all the women who have had to deal with that.
I'm out. Be good all. And remember:
I'm done for today.
